The pictures from Prague are up on jimmycorp.com, our next stop after Berlin. Clicking on the picture below will lead you to the gallery.
Prague is a very photogenic city, the compositions come easy, which makes it hard to take photos that haven't been taken a million times. Prague is know for its scams and we had to pay attention. Business men in suits often stand a little too close for comfort and the bills never seem to add up. We had been burned once, but soon turned savvy. On one notable occasion we went to a restaurant recommended to us by the Tourist Information, who gave us a free wine tasting at the restaurant, and assured us they were honest. At the restaurant it was apparent that the wine tasting was just a way to sample and choose your wine. We chose one and asked the price, 380 CZK not the greatest deal, but it was good wine. When we got our bill we had been charged 490 CZK for the bottle. I pointed out the discrepancy and they said, "Oh yes, it is 380 CZK", like nothing was wrong. We paid our bill, deducting the overcharge, left no tip, and they gave us two free glasses of port to finish the night. Not too bad. It was a very nice place with good food and atmosphere, though I think the two middle aged men at the table next to us were attempting to coax the young girl they were with into doing porn. We learned to stick to the recommendations of Ota, our host at the B&B U Oty, a fine bed and breakfast if you are ever in Prague. It is cheap, charming, and clean, and Ota never turns you wrong.
